The Society of Torch & Laurel is proud to partner with Global citizen year, a gap year program that brings bold high school grads to live and work ABroad.
Global Citizen Year is a gap year program that brings bold high school grads to live and work in Senegal, Ecuador, Brazil and India. Each year they recruit and train a diverse corps of the brightest young leaders from America, and beyond, and support them through a school-year-long immersion in communities that represent the “global majority.”
Fellows live with local families and apprentice to projects in education, health, the environment, and more. The length and depth of their immersion is transformative. By living alongside the problems they’re solving, fellows experience the difference between “feel good” and “real good” in creating social change.
